Emir is DTB’s Managing Partner heading the Real Estate and Infrastructure and the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practices. As one of the founders of the firm, Emir is proficient in managing complex cases, negotiating settlements and achieving favourable outcomes for DTB’s major clients.

Enjoying the reputation for being one of the leading lawyers in the development of real estate projects in Croatia, Emir leads the teams in the largest and most complex real estate transactions and projects. He has successfully represented both domestic and foreign investors in a wide range of legal matters, from real estate purchase and development and construction financing to leases, sale-and-leaseback transactions and real estate management in general. Most of his projects are related to tourism, trade, energy and infrastructure but Emir’s long experience includes port activities, industry and other similar sectors, even matters relevant to public-private partnership.

In addition to his extensive professional experience at the local level, Emir often broadens his experience in international affairs by collaborating with reputable foreign law firms on cross-border transactions and projects involving multiple jurisdictions. He regularly attends numerous international congresses and forums. He also actively participates in the work of the Croatian Bar Association by sharing his knowledge and experience and thus contributing to the development of the legal profession in Croatia.

Chambers Europe continues to rank Emir as Band 1 lawyer, who is particularly capable in acting on real estate and project financing and development mandates, highly active in the market and a well-respected practitioner. His clients and peers describe him as “the eminent lawyer in the real estate market”.

Emir is also one of few Croatian lawyers to be introduced in Legal 500’s Hall of Fame in two categories – Privatisation, Projects & Energy and Real Estate & Construction.
