Our member firm BOYANOV & Co. has acted as Bulgarian counsel to the lenders on the refinancing of Huvepharma, a leading global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Sofia focused on human and animal healthcare. The refinancing closed on 29 September 2026 and secures the group’s syndicated facility for the next seven years.
The syndicate included UniCredit Bulbank AD, United Bulgarian Bank AD, DSK Bank AD, Eurobank Bulgaria AD, ING Bank NV – Sofia Branch, BNP Paribas S.A. – Sofia Branch, KBC Bank NV, and Citibank Europe Plc, Bulgaria Branch, with Citibank Europe Plc, UK Branch acting as facility agent and Citibank N.A., London Branch acting as security agent.
BOYANOV & Co. advised the lenders on all Bulgarian law aspects of the transaction. That covered the finance documents, the Bulgarian security package, the related regulatory requirements, corporate approvals, and the Bulgarian law legal opinions.
In connection with the refinancing, the firm advised the European Investment Bank on related amendments to its separate EUR 130 million loan to Biovet, a material manufacturing subsidiary of the Huvepharma group in Bulgaria.
