Over the course of his career, he has become recognised not only as a top-tier legal professional but also as a prominent figure in diplomacy and business relations, contributing to initiatives that link law, commerce and international collaboration.

His legal expertise is focused on M&A, banking and public affairs, areas in which he has advised major international and domestic investors. Borislav’s achievements are reflected in his continuous recognition by leading international directories. Beyond his practice, Borislav has been a pioneer in building institutions that strengthen the legal profession. He is Founder and Co-Chair of the Balkan Legal Forum, a platform that have fostered dialogue among legal professionals across five continents. He has served the International Bar Association in multiple capacities, including as Bulgaria’s Representative, Co-Chair of the European Forum, and member of councils and advisory boards. On the regional stage, he was the driving force behind the creation of the South East Europe Legal Group (SEE Legal) in 2003, where he continues to serve as Honorary Chair and acting Co-Chair, and, more recently, established the Three Seas Legal Alliance. His commitment to regional cooperation has positioned him as one of the most influential figures in Southeast Europe’s legal community.

Borislav’s public and diplomatic roles complement his legal career. He has served as the Honorary Consul of Malta in Bulgaria since 2000, rising to Honorary General Consul in 2018 and being decorated as an Officer of the Order of Merits of Malta. Since 2016, he has also presided over the Bulgarian Honorary Consuls Association. He has co-founded and chaired several bilateral business chambers, including the Maltese, Indian, British and was President of the American Chambers of Commerce in Bulgaria, underscoring his active engagement at the intersection of law, business and diplomacy.

Educated at the Faculty of Law, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski – where he graduated first in a class of 500 – Borislav was also the first Bulgarian participant at the Academy of American and International Law in Dallas in 1990. He combines academic excellence, international exposure, and professional distinction with a career-long dedication to advancing the legal profession and supporting Bulgaria’s integration into the global economy.
