The 2nd Round of Joint Technology RES Tender April 2, 2020 – RESULTS
The current support scheme for RES projects in Greece was introduced by virtue of Law 4414/2016 in alignment with the EU Guidelines on State aid for Environmental Protection and Energy 2014 - 2020. RES Support Law initiated the sliding feed-in premium operating aid for the Photovoltaic plants and Wind Parks which is secured by having successfully participated in the competitive tenders organised by the Regulatory Authority for Energy .

The Second Round of Technology Specific (PVs & WPs) RES Tenders for 2019
The next round of two technology specific tendering processes for wind (WP) and photovoltaic (PV) parks of capacities of 287,11 and 225,45 MW respectively, are set for 12 December 2019. The applications are to be submitted until 4 November 2019.

Extension of Deadlines for the Development of RES and CHP Projects Due to COVID-19
The Legislative Act dated 30 March 2020 (G.G. B’ 75/30.03.2020) introduces extensions of several project timetables and their validity period in order to secure the necessary licences and administrative permits/acts. Most notably, the Act addresses the duration of the installation licences which are affected, the conclusion of the binding grid connection offers with the ITO, as well as the deadlines for the electrification of the RES projects.

With a view to safeguarding RES investments in Greece, the MEE will purportedly seek to postpone the RES investors' obligations most likely for a few months in order to assist the viability of the projects.
