Plant for Production of Solar Panels and Solar Park

Italian manufacturer of photovoltaic modules Exe Solar will build a plant for the production of solar panels in the city of Yambol. The investment is in the amount of EUR 6.5 million. It is planned that the plant will be operational by the end of 2023. The production capacity will initially be 350 MW and will subsequently be increased to 600 MW.

German solar manufacturer AE Solar is planning to build a plant for manufacturing of solar panels in Kyustendil, Bulgaria.
The investment under the project is in amount of BGN 20 million (approx. EUR 10.2 million). The construction of the plant is planned to start in 2023. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 1 GW.
Floating Solar Power Park at Ogosta Reservoir

German company Profine Energy GmbH has declared its intention to invest more than EUR 1 billion in the project of a floating solar power park at Ogosta Reservoir, located in north-western Bulgaria.
The investment will include complete repair and restoration of the dam wall of the Ogosta Reservoir and the construction of a floating solar power park situated on 10 km2 of the water surface.
Crni Vrh Wind Farm

This is a wind farm project with envisaged installed capacity of 150 MW in the mountainous area of Eastern Serbia. The project in permitting stage which is expected to be completed during 2023. The project is put up for sale. The cost of the construction of this 150 MW wind farm is exceeds EUR 200 million.

Investment in Reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavoda has Received the Preliminary Approval

Nuclearelectrica (SNN), controlled by the Ministry of Energy, decided the continuation of the project for the construction of units 3 and 4 of Cernavoda nuclear power plant and the transition to its second stage, consisting of preliminary works. The shareholders have also approved the initiation of procedures for awarding and concluding the contracts necessary to finalize the project, within the limit of EUR 185 million. Moreover, EnergoNuclear’s financing by its sole shareholder SNN with EUR 185 million, through a capital increase and/or a loan, was also approved.

It has been reported that serious negotiations are underway to connect with the Serbian SEEPEX energy exchange.

It has been unofficially reported that the German energy group E.ON is planning to sell E.ON Ljubljana.
Although they had big plans in Slovenia, they did not succeed in gaining market share in Slovenia, and today E.ON is among the seven electricity sellers, which jointly have only a 5.2% market share in the sale of electricity to end customers.

HRADF to Launch an International Tender

HRADF will launch an international tender to sell a 49% equity stake in Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE) by the end of the year. PPC will be the seller and the tender will envisage strong rights for the minority shareholder, while all legal-accounting preparations will be implemented by the time the tender will be launched, George Stassis, chairman and CEO of PPC said, predicting strong investment interest for the distribution grid.

The aim of the project is to increase the security of supply and ensure sufficient quantities of natural gas for the needs of the Republic of Croatia and the countries of the region. The project involves the construction of an LNG terminal with an area of 35 ha, with a capacity of 15 billion cubic meters of natural gas, and the possibility of accepting the largest LNG ships, with draft depths up to 18 m.
