Some of the measures include the development of a nuclear programme, modernisation of Oltenia and Hunedoara Energy Complexes, investments by the state-owned companies Hidroelectrica and Romgaz.

January 2022 Serbia prepared a new investment plan for energy and mining projects worth around EUR 17 billion. EUR 12 billion from the total amount will be used to finance the construction of wind farms, solar and hydro power plants. The Draft Economic Reform Programme for the period 2022-2024 envisages the implementation of state projects for the construction of wind farms with a capacity of 3,000 megawatts (MW) and solar power plants with a capacity of 8,300 MW.

The plant should have the power of 680 MW and the value of the project is EUR 600 million. The facility should have the maximum installed power of 50 MW from generators spreading across 80 hectares.
