Wind Farms in Lezha, Northwest Albania

Two new wind farms, named BPGE1 and BPGE2 (114 MW and 120 MW, respectively), are planned to be built by an Albanian-Italian consortium of “Biopower Green Energy” SHPK and “Marseglia Group” srl in the mountain ranges of Renc and Kakariq, parallel to the coastline in Shengjin and Balldren, Municipality of Lezha (Northwest Albania). The estimated investment value is EUR 244 million. The project was awarded a strategic investment status which gives to private investors access to administrative assistance and support programs, including the right to acquire for free state-owned land for the development of the project.
