SEE Legal Employment and Immigration Practice Group

The member firms of SEE Legal have proven ability to handle high-profile cases on a national and international level, providing legal assistance in relation to individual and collective labour contracts, internal regulations and policies, confidentiality, restrictive covenants and non-compete agreements, management contracts, stock option plans, H&S rules and regulations, and DP issues that arise in an employment context. SEE Legal’s clients rely on its lawyers to help them attract and retain top local and international personnel through employment arrangements that comply with regional requirements.

Throughout the years, the SEE Legal Employment and Immigration Practice Group members had a chance to cooperate and contribute to the SEE Employment Handbook 2011 and the SEE Employment and Immigration Handbook 2018, which have provided in-house counsels, HR professionals and legal practitioners a helpful tool in understanding the legal framework regulating employment and immigration in Southeast Europe.

Please find below a short message from Maral Minasyan, elected Head of the SEE Legal Employment and Immigration Practice Group:

“I am proud to be chosen as coordinator of the SEE Legal’s Employment and Immigration practice area. I will be the main regional contact for all aspects of the SEE Legal clients’ employment and immigration related legal matters. As a part of the strong SEE Legal team, I look forward to continuing to create value for the group’s clients.”

SEE Legal Intellectual Property Practice Group

Based on the 53 IP lawyers spread over the 17 offices of the Group, and working together for over 17 years, SEE Legal offers an integrated IP related service. Thanks to its persistent level of quality and excellence of services, the Group’s IP members are regularly recognised by the specialised editions of World Trademark Review 1000 and Managing Intellectual Property IP Stars.

Since 2015, the SEE Legal IP Practice Group members attend jointly as a group the Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association. As part of its attendance, the IP Practice Group has organised various activities, including hosting meetings with representatives of national and international law firms that carry substantial weight in the IP world, meeting current and prospective international clients and providing them with SEE Legal value-added materials.

The formalised IP Practice Group will continue working towards developing new relationships to expand SEE Legal’s network of colleagues and clients, and exchanging internal know-how information on the IP industry and its specifics.

Please find below a message from Natasa Pipan Nahtigal, elected Head of the SEE Legal Intellectual Property Practice Group:

“I am honoured to have been offered the position of Head of the SEE Legal IP Practice Group. I will be happy to coordinate our group of very established IP practitioners at a time when some of the fundamental IP principles are becoming so controversial and at the same time crucially important.

In certain of our countries, compulsory licensing is being explored as a tool for combatting the current pandemic, and in others, we are following developments concerning the Unified Patent Court. We are investigating the patentability of computer-implemented solutions, questioning ourselves about the correct scope of trademark specifications and debating the EUIPO ruling against Banksy. These are just some of the very intriguing issues that I look forward to exploring with my SEE Legal colleagues to the benefit of our existing and new clients.”

Both practice groups are looking forward to embracing new group activities for the benefit of adding value to their clients’ businesses in Southeast Europe.
