The construction of a regional food center is a project whose idea is to elevate agriculture as a sector of the economy to a much higher and more organised level, with modernization and all the necessary content in one place. It is located in the city of Sarajevo, and the realization is already underway with the designated land for facilities and all necessary documentation.
The project is being implemented by “KGI Konstrukt” d.o.o. Sarajevo, is one of the leading financial engineering and construction companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company was founded in 2003 and continues the tradition of the family company, originally established in 1985. The company provides design, engineering, and construction services and it builds apartments at very attractive locations in Sarajevo.
This project proposes the construction of a regional food center that would serve as a regional hub for the food industry. The regional food centre will have several elements: stored capacities, silos, terminals, food production, and wholesale and retail facilities. Its main purpose is to receive agricultural and food products intended for import and export. It would also serve as storage and would provide the raw material for food production in the area of the Sarajevo Canton and the region. The estimated total investment cost is EUR 250 million and the form of cooperation with a foreign partner is set up in such a way that partners can invest as a joint venture.
