Public Projects in Motorways and Railway Infrastructure
A building permit is currently being obtained for the construction of a section of the motorway from the Obrezje near Novo mesto junction to the Osredek junction. According to the Motorway Company in the Republic of Slovenia (“DARS”), the works for this section will cost just under EUR 95 million. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of next year and be completed by the end of 2023.
The construction of the section between Velenje and Slovenj Gradec is divided into several sections and will cost over EUR 500 million. For some sections, a building permit is being obtained and public procurement tenders announced.
For the section worth EUR 318 million between Sentrupert and Velenje, DARS is preparing project documentation and obtaining land and environmental permits. Construction is expected to begin in 2022 and be completed in 2027.
Next year, the Directorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Infrastructure (“DRSI”) will start implementing the following railway projects: upgrade of the Pragersko hub (EUR 89 million), upgrade of the Grosuplje railway station (EUR 25 million), upgrade of certain parts of the Ljubljana-Divaca railway line (value unknown), upgrade of Domzale railway station (EUR 7.5 million).
