Bosnia and Herzegovina has a great hydro potential. One of the rivers capable of supporting a large-scale power plant project is the Bosna River. The Janjici hydro power plant was supposed to utilize its potential to a greater degree and it was originally meant to be financed by the German investment bank KfW. However, the bank recently withdrew from negotiations leaving this project in its earliest development phase and the state in search for new potential investors. The cost of this project is estimated at around EUR 56 million.
