BDK Advokati was one of the sponsors of IFLR European In-House Council Summit 2018, which took place on 24 January in London. Partner Ana Jankov held three repeated sessions focused on the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). She spoke about the main novelties the GDPR brings to the corporate world, in particular on compliance self-assessment, the challenges of data protection breach notification, and management of data transfers to third parties. After her presentation, Ana initiated discussion with the audience, which provided insight into practical concerns of the corporate world.

IFLR European In-House Council Summit 2018 brought together general counsels, heads of legal and leading lawyers for a day of engaging discussions and debate. The event covered a range of topical issues besides GDPR, including European capital framework and capital markets, M&A transactions and methods of negotiating semi-hostile deals, anti-corruption and bribery regimes, the role of in-house counsel in dispute resolution, and the developments in competition law and employment law.
