November 2023 BOYANOV & Co. advised  Aurelius Group on the Bulgarian legal aspects in the acquisition of the Bulgarian part of the Lufthansa Group catering business. The Minister of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure announced that the state may increase its share in the national carrier to help its recovery from the financial crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. Adria Airways Airline in Bankruptcy

Adria Airways was the flag carrier of Slovenia, operating scheduled and charter services to European destinations. The company filed for bankruptcy on 30 September 2019 with debts reported at about EUR 90 million. Slovenia's Economic Development and Technology Minister said that an option to set up a new airline within a few months in order to maintain important air links was being studied.

Upcoming Tender for a New Operator of Maribor Airport

In January 2019, the Slovenian airport operator Aerodrom Maribor, owned by the Chinese-controlled SHS Aviation, announced the unilateral termination of its concession deal for the Edvard Rusjan Maribor Airport. SHS Aviation, the Chinese-controlled company bought Aerodrom Maribor at the end of 2016 for EUR 7 million and signed a 15-year concession contract with the state in early 2017, committing to pay a monthly concession fee in the amount of EUR 100.000.
